Iggy Bikes Would Like Your Opinion
29/11/07 14:14 | Permalink
Iggy Bikes will be releasing their dirt/street frame in the next few months and would like your opinion!! We have been asked to see which colour riders prefer. We're pretty excited by the idea of a company asking the riders their opinion and hope Iggy Bikes will involve us (the riders) in the future development of frames and other components.
The first batch will be finished in either matt black or gloss black or if another colour proves popular they may even change their mind completely!!
So its up to you guys:
Iggy Bikes would also like to hear from anyone interested in distributing their new frames contact:

Corsair König & Ducat

Many companies look at the development of a hardtail dirt jumping
frame as an exercise in simplicity. When it came to the development of
the Ducat, we wanted to develop and offer a frame that was more -
adding 'off the charts' performance as well as reliability to the
clean lines and refinement of a modern dirt jumper. Here's what we
did:
Let's start with choices. All Corsair frames (except the Crown) are
designed to use the same drop-outs. That means that the Ducat accepts
our 12mm Maxle, Horizontal, or 10mm QR drop-outs. So whether you are
running gears or single speed, using thru axle, bolt-on or QR, the
Ducat can be tailored to your exact needs. Be assured that the Corsair drop-outs are 'rock-solid' with their dual bolt 'Lego' fit interface.
Just set'em and forget'em.
Your choices don't end at the back of the bike. Check out the front
end and you find our 3 degree adjustable headtube angle system. When
it comes to knowing what you like, you are the expert and system gives
you the ability to adjust your ride for faster or slower steering and
for different fork lengths.
Next, you can check out our frame building details. The yokes at the
bottom bracket and seat junction are CNC machined works of art that
make the Ducat strong and reliable. In particular, the yoke at the
seat junction greatly improves the reliability of this often fragile
area. Additionally, the BB yoke has built in and ready to go ICGS-05
chainguide tabs.
Finally, we can't overlook the spot-on geometry of the Ducat. In
particular, check the 15.9" chainstay length and the 12.2" BB height.
Info: The Ducat ships with our super high-end sealed angular contact
bearing headset, a seat clamp and Maxle drop-outs with Maxle.
Available for order December 3rd.
Check out the Ducat page on the Corsair website for more information
about our designs.

More Trailking SS shots and its looking good
16/11/07 10:03 | Permalink
The frame is 100% cromoly and designed for
slopestyle. The geometry is set up so the bike
can be thrown around for 360's and barspins, but
still handle the speed and hits of charging a
hill. It will retail for under $1,000 and is
very, very durable. Atomlab's goal is to have
production around 9 lbs with a shock. The guy in
the photo is Atomlab's team rider Thomas Hosford.
He is a welder and an experienced frame builder.
He designed the Trailking and the Trailking SS
frame.

Date: Saturday, November 17th

Meeting Place: Agricultural Exhibition Hall, 400m south of the
Sheraton,
opposite the eastern end of Dongzhimenwai
What to bring: Bike, Helmet, Mobile Phone, RMB
100 for emergency,
spare tube and tools to change a flat tire (or a buddy who will ride
with you the entire way with tools), clothes for cold & windy
weather, water, bike gloves.
Important Notes: This is NOT an organized ride - you should either
ride with a buddy who can repair a bike and arrange for emergency
transport if needed (i.e., speaks Chinese) or be prepared to walk your
bike several kilometers in cold weather to the nearest major road. On
the bright side, there are generally some bike repair places, shops,
restaurants, etc. every 5 kilometers or so along the way. There are
no hills or mountains on this ride, although you will see a horse farm
(mushies & mobsters), a pagoda (mobsters), and some fat geese
(mobsters).
Route:
The first 30 to 45 minutes of this ride are on dusty, rocky, and
smelly roads (some unpaved) with plenty of cars & motorcycles for
company. Still reading? Ok, after this part is over with, you will
enjoy about 30 to 45 minutes of nice riding along canal roads with
little car traffic and some decent scenery (less greenery in the
winter, unfortunately). Look for the horse farm on the right about 1/2
way through. Mushies turn around as soon as they hit the Golf Course
at the end of the canal road (approx. 25km).
Mobsters turn right at the Golf course, go straight a km or two, then
go straight through the giant intersection at the main road. After
2km or so of fighting car & pedistrian traffic, mobsters turn left
onto a canal road that leads to Tongzhou (landmark = giant pagoda).
The canal road will end at a major road AFTER passing the pagoda -
turn RIGHT and go straight to the first traffic light/major
intersection. Then turn LEFT and go over the bridge. After about
1km, you will turn RIGHT onto a newly constructed major road (sorry,
don't know the name). Go straight 1km and it seems that the road ends
in a village... go straight through the village cobblestone/dirt path,
then left at the first mini "intersection", then go straight until you
get to the traffic light. CAREFULLY make a left turn onto this road
(it's a highway, cars are zooming). Go straight about 3km, then turn
right onto the first major road with a traffic light. You will go
straight on this road about 5km (going though one highway intersection
- wait for the green light). After you pass the gas station on your
left, look for the next turn-off to the left WITH upright light poles
marking the road on both sides. Turn left on this road and go
straight 1km - it ends on the Tongzhou Canal. Go left and ride 8km to
Moon River Resort. Take a break at moon river to feed the geese.
Then, turn around and go back, this time taking the other side of the
canal road (nicer), switching sides when the road gets blocked (about
7km). Add extra distance as needed/desired by following the canal
road down to the movie studio/fishing village at the end of the canal
(you'll see a large bridge). Then - go back the way you came (total
ride = 100km or so). Options include going back via the other main
canal road (following the Tongzhou subway line - lots more road
traffic this way) or if your legs are dead just cabbing it back to
Beijing. You can also avoid the dirt roads (and rocks) by going out
of the way a bit, passing the Lido hotel (warning - easy to get lost
that way).
I hope to finish this ride before noon and then enjoy some noodles at
the Malan noodle place on XinFuCun Zhong Lu (near the French Butcher &
April Gourmet, close to Worker's Stadium). Mushies & Mobsters welcome
to join.
As I have not been on a bike for over a month, I will not be
especially speedy, and will try to wait up for any lost or mislaid
mobsters for the Tonghou canal section... and we will all need to stay
together as a group for the first 30 to 45 minutes to make sure no one
is lost.
Please "sign-up" for this ride via email to beijingmob-
owner@googlegroups.com just so we know how many people to expect, but
again as this is NOT an organized ride (and it's therefore free - and
of course at your own risk) no one will wait for you to start if you
are late, or check off your name after the ride is over... remember to
always put safety first (since the first - and last - part of this
ride are on busy roads, be especially wary).

six six one's new range of d30 pads are ready to be released. What's cool about these pads is the fact the protected area stays flexible and comfy until a shock acts against it, then it becomes hard and rigid. This has got to be one of the best innovations in cycling protection in recent years.

The third and final ride of every week will be on Sunday. The time and locations of this ride will vary depending on the week.

MacMahone Kingdom
03/11/07 22:36 | Permalink
MacMahone will be releasing the Kingdom soon. It
features 68mm of rear wheel travel, a full
cromoly (Sanko) frame and gyro tabs. More
importantly it can be built as a single speed,
for those who want to, due to the main pivot
being around the bottom bracket and can even run
pegs.
The Kingdom will be available in three colours (green, grey and brown) and weigh an impressive 3.6kg with an air shock.
The only problem is which shall I get? Atomlab Trailking SS or MacMahone Kingdom?
Thanks to Downhill 911 for the photos.

Trailking SS Sighting
01/11/07 22:15 | Permalink
We reported on the Atomlab Trailking SS a few
days ago, and after trawling the net we found
another pic, but this time built up with some
quality parts. Most people are calling the SS a
slope style bike , but Atomlab seem to think it
will fit the bill for most types of riding.
As you can see for the pic there is definitely a sort of bolt thru rear hub arrangement going on out back and judging by the size of the person next to it, it has a really low stand over height and a compact front end.
Well I am really tempted. Christmas is on its way and a simple, short travel, steel full sus bike is at the top of my wish list.
